In the following chapters we would like to show you the marketing options you have with your PepperShop online shop and POS. Learn more about themes, search engine optimization and omnichannel. With our marketing modules, you remain flexible and can implement your marketing strategy in a targeted manner.

Optimize PepperShop

Design options

A picture is worth a thousand words. Captivate your customers with an attractive shop design. A design optimized for your own customer segment promotes trust on the part of potential customers in the shop system they visit and conveys the professionalism of a web shop system in a simple way. A design optimized for usability also simplifies the operation of the shop and thus increases sales.

Create a layout yourself or have it implemented by professionals, you can find all the options on the info page.

Design your content such as text, images or films in the shop easily via drag and drop and offer your customers an appealing shopping experience, even on mobile devices. The Content Editor is available from version 9.0 and creates new possibilities to present your information and products.

Content for search engines

Make sure that Google etc love your shop. Fill the online shop with products that contain high-quality content.

That means uploading several pictures per article and writing a good product description. Use relevant key terms or keywords. Put yourself in the shoes of your (potential) customers. What terms would you enter in a search engine if you were looking for your own product? Do you have a unique selling proposition? Very good—tell your customers this as well.

Shipping and payment methods

Offer your customers different options for delivery and payment to cover different requirements. Customer needs and options offered by competitors vary depending on the sector. Please take this into account, as free or reduced-charge delivery is expected in some cases with a larger order value.

Shipping Methods

Consider offering free shipping or letting your customers know when a package will ship. The customer may also want the option to collect the goods.

  • Special shipping: Cost calculation according to post/zip code or only for certain items.

    • Send tracking number to customers when the goods are shipped

Payment Methods

The payment methods and the associated payment processing (payment) is a central part of every online shop and has a massive impact on the drop-out rate at the checkout (conversion rate). In principle, the more payment methods offered in the shop, the more sales are generated. However, since every means of payment is associated with costs (setup, transaction fees, maintenance, back office processes), it does not make sense to offer any and every available means of payment. The types of payment offered should be tailored to the expectations and needs of these groups of people as far as possible.

We have provided you with an overview of the available means of payment as well as options in the area of risk management. Have you chosen a provider or do you need further information? Security standards for online payments are always kept up-to-date with us. A new standard has been introduced: 3-D Secure 2.0. It makes card payments in e-commerce much easier for you and your customers through use of a wide range of data, biometric authentication and an improved, uniform online experience.

Search Engine Optimization

We generally recommend always running the PepperShop on the latest version, so you have the latest SEO optimizations and the mobile first responsive display available, which has a positive effect on your positioning.

Content is king!

Before you worry about all possible variants of search engine optimization, it is important that you maintain your content. You have to feed Google etc:

  • Use meaningful article names
  • Describe your items in detail with all product-related information
  • Write your own texts, avoid copying external sources 1:1 (avoid duplicate content)
  • Link to other resources or suitable products
  • Create category descriptions
  • Capture information pages on specific topics and use popular keywords
  • The first 250 characters of the article or category description are used for the description.
  • Pay attention to the dimensions of your images, for example in the Content Slider or other content pages. Long loading times have a negative effect on the rating of your site.

Registration with the search engines

Make sure that you have registered your shop with the search engines so that your content can also be found.

  • Subscribe to Google (requires a free Google Webmaster Tools account)
  • Log in to Microsoft bing / Yahoo (requires a free bing Webmaster Tools account)
  • Upload the Sitemap of your shop to the providers.
  • For search queries outside the region, it is worth creating a Google My Business Account.

Get to know your customers

Obtain important key data about your website. Probably the easiest way to do this is Google Analytics. This way you can find out where your customers come from and how long they stay on your site. Another helpful module is the search analysis, which lists the search terms used by visitors in the shop.

Newsletter

Keep your customers up to date. Inform them about your latest products and current campaigns/promotions via a newsletter, a blog or other means of communication and encourage customers to make further purchases.

With the newsletter module, you offer your customers the opportunity to subscribe to newsletters on various topics in your online shop. As the shop operator, you simply manage the recipients in the shop administration.

To send the newsletter you will receive a license for the Supermailer (Windows only) free of charge. We also offer direct interfaces to CleverReach , ActiveCampaign or Mailchimp. to synchronize your customers with the online tool.

Vouchers / discount codes

Attract your customers with promotional vouchers, which you can create as a fixed price or percentage discount under conditions that you define yourself. The vouchers can of course also be offered as a means of payment. The codes generated are easily exported for further processing.

PepperShop also offers Print@Home vouchers. You determine the appearance of the vouchers and assign them to the corresponding products. Your customers select the voucher of their choice and can buy it directly online and print it out themselves.

Portal Connector

Offer your products on well-known product platforms such as toppreise.ch or preissuchmaschine.ch to find new customers. Shipping costs, delivery availability data and manufacturer information can be transmitted in detail, which is crucial for good positioning.

Chat

Fast and competent support is the be-all and end-all these days. Offer your customers support where they need it. Send automatic messages after a certain number of clicks or visits to predefined pages. We recommend the chat service from tawk.to, but other providers such as Zendesk or Olark can also be easily integrated.

Social bookmarking and sharing

Do you have social media channels or are your customers active there? With this module you can equip your shop with Follow and Share buttons, enabling easy linking to and recommending of products. More than 300 connected systems are available.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics gives you valuable information about your customers and their behavior. How did they find my shop? How many of them also bought something? Are items being placed in the shopping cart but not purchased? With comprehensive analysis, you get to know your customers better and can adjust your offer accordingly.

Cross selling

Link accessory items to a matching item to generate additional sales. You can do this for free by linking option items.

The automated cross-selling module is available as a supplement, which works on to the following basis: “Other customers who bought this item also bought…".

Points of sale

Do you have branches or distributors/agents spread across the country? Show your customers easily where you are represented. Present all points of sale directly in your web shop with additional information, and show them on an interactive Google Maps page.

Sales channels

Sell your products and services where your potential customers are. Connections to sales channels offer you an easy way to sell your items on various platforms. You benefit from the level of awareness of the sales channel and reach your desired target group quickly and easily. Your PepperShop online shop can transmit your product range to marketplaces, social media channels and search engines.

Marketplaces

PepperShop has a direct connection to Amazon Marketplace and Digitec Galaxus. Thanks to the interfaces, your products are automatically aligned with the marketplaces. The connection to Digitec Galaxus even enables you to directly manage and transmit the delivery status in the online shop.

Social Media Channels

Social media platforms are indispensable nowadays. Take advantage of their large reach and sell your products on Instagram & Facebook Shopping, and now also on Pinterest Shopping. With both modules you can transmit your entire PepperShop product list to the social media channels.

search engine

With the help of Google Shopping and Google search technology, your products can be quickly found and compared in online shops across the web. The interested party will then be redirected directly to your website where they can buy the product online. For providers of certain brands with GTIN (EAN) the manufacturer information module is also required for data transmission.

Multi channel

Do you also have a shop? Then connect the online channel with the stationary one using the checkout solution PepperShop POS. With the integrated checkout, you have the option of managing processes consistently. The customer can also see what he has bought in the store in his online account and can decide for himself where he wants to redeem his voucher. Another advantage is that warehouse management is always up to date, so you avoid overlapping sales.
