Introduction
With the Returns module, you can easily handle item returns in your PepperShop POS. In this guide, we explain how to set up the module and process returns in the POS interface.
Module/Interface Benefits
- Simple Processing: You can perform returns and credit notes with just a few clicks directly at the POS.
- Instantly Recognized via QR Code: If you scan the receipt, the items are automatically transferred to the shopping cart for return and can be adjusted there.
- Customer Automatically Logged In: If a customer was linked to the purchase, they are automatically logged in, so the return is processed via their customer account.
- Mixed Carts Possible: Your customers can return items and purchase new products at the same time.
- Current Stock Level: Returned items are automatically credited back to the inventory.
- Intuitively Traceable: Returns are clearly assigned, linked, and easily easy to find, both at the POS and in the administration area.
Comparison to “Click & Collect” Module
Until PepperShop Version 10, the returns function was part of the Click & Collect module. However, since some of our customers only wish to handle returns, we created a standalone Returns module for PepperShop V11.
Additionally, we have expanded the functions: With the new module, you can now process mixed carts – meaning returns and new purchases in a single transaction*.
- Note on mixed carts if an ERP is connected: In this case, the ERP interface and the ERP itself must also support mixed carts.
Configuration of the Returns Module
Necessary for the Start
Step 1: Install Module

Go to your PepperShop Administration.

Click on “Modules” in the menu on the left.

Do you see the module in the list?
- If yes: Proceed to the next step.
- If no: Read on.

Click on “Module administration”

Search in the “Modules not yet installed” area for “web checkout redemptions” and select the module.

Click on the “Install” button.

Click on “Manage module”.
Step 2: Activate Module
We are now in the module “web checkout redemptions”: “Modules” → “web checkout redemptions”
- Check the box for “Activation”.
- Allow mixed carts: If you want to be able to process returns and sales in a single transaction, check this box.
- Important: If you use an ERP, it must support mixed carts.
Usage of the Returns Module
In the following video, we explain how you can process returns in the PepperShop POS and view them in the POS and administration. Set video subtitles: The voice-over is in German. Click on the subtitle icon on the right for video subtitles. You can change the subtitle language via the gear icon.
