Introduction

In this manual you will find the individual steps to connect and start up the Omnilink Receipt Printer. At the end of the instructions you will find possible troubleshooting that can help you in case of problems.

The Omnilink receipt printer can only be configured from version 10 of PepperShop.

Configuration

Step 1: Unpack and Prepare

First unpack the receipt printer and all materials. Turn the receipt printer 180° so that you can remove the flap on the back.

Step 2: Connect cables and hardware

Connect the receipt printer to a power outlet using the power cable. Connect the receipt printer to your network using the LAN cable. Note: A LAN cable must be provided by you. (Cat 5E+, RJ-45)

If you have also purchased a scanner and/or display, you can connect these directly to the receipt printer:

The cash drawer can also be connected directly to the receipt printer. Note the serial number of the receipt printer:

Step 3: Close the cover

After you have connected all the cables, you can close the cover again.

Step 4: Insert print paper roll

Open the receipt printer by the small flap at the top right. Insert the thermal roll into the receipt printer as shown in the illustration. Insert the roll so that a small strip protrudes from the receipt printer. Then close the flap again.

Step 5: Switch on the printer

Make sure the printer is connected to the mains. Turn on the printer by clicking on the on/off switch. After about 1 minute a receipt should print, keep it until the receipt printer has been set up.

Now switch to your PepperShop administration. Click on Web Cash Register -> Web Cash Register Configuration, you will find the “Cash Register Administration”.

You can give your receipt printer a name and select the “EPSON Omnilink Receipt Printer” in the “Output via” dropdown.

Enter the serial number of the receipt printer in the field “Printer identification”, where you can find it is described in step 2. You can also tick the box here if you are also using a scanner and/or a display. Then save the settings at the bottom with the Save button.

Optionally, you can now specify the location of your printer. To do this, follow the steps below:

Click on “Web cash register” in the menu on the left > “Locations” > “New location”. Enter your location number, name and description. Click on “Save” at the bottom.

You will now see the linked hardware:

It is best to carry out a test sale now.

Remember to personalise your receipt by uploading your logo, printing your customer on the receipt or printing your cashier on the receipt.

You can do this in the administration under Web Checkout -> Web Checkout Configuration -> Receipt Configuration:

Troubleshooting

The web cash register cannot connect to the receipt printer

The following error message appears after opening the web cash register:

Go through the following points to resolve the error:

  • Is the receipt printer connected to the power and switched on.
  • Is the LAN cable connected correctly
  • Is there an IP address on the slip of paper that is printed out after the printer is switched on?
    • If no -> the receipt printer has no connection to the network. Please check the cable.
    • If yes, enter the IP address in the browser:
      • Printer is not displayed -> contact the Internet provider for support.
      • Printer is displayed -> please contact our support (support@glarotech.ch)

Display shows nothing

Is the display correctly connected to the receipt printer via USB?

Scanner does not work

Is the scanner correctly connected to the receipt printer via USB?

Cash drawer does not open

Is the cash drawer correctly connected to the receipt printer via RJ-12 plug?

The interface to the Omnilink receipt printer is only available from version 10 Build 46. You can see your current version in your administration at the top right. For an update, please contact our support (support@glarotech.ch)

Receipt printer does not print the info slip after switching on.

Please check the following points:

  • Is the receipt printer connected to the power and switched on.
  • Is the thermal paper inserted correctly

If these points are correct, please contact our support (support@glarotech.ch).

No IP address is displayed on the info sheet

Please check the following points:

  • Is the receipt printer correctly connected to the network with the LAN cable?
  • Is the receipt printer on the same network as the web cash register?

If these points are correct, please contact our support (support@glarotech.ch).

No more thermal paper
