Introduction

Have you decided in favour of the SumUp-bexio-PepperShop package? These instructions will help you to configure the all-in-one checkout solution from PepperShop.

To get started you need:

  • A fully set up bexio account (see “Step 1”)

  • Access data for your bexio

  • Access data for your PepperShop administration

  • Access data for your SumUp account

    • If you already have a SumUp account, please send us your customer number to support@glarotech.ch. We will be happy to forward it to SumUp so that your condition benefits can be activated.
  • Your SumUp Solo card terminal

  • A Wi-Fi access

Step 1: Setting up bexio

Before you start with these instructions, you should have set up your bexio ready for operation. To configure the bexio interface in PepperShop, your articles, users, revenue accounts and bank accounts should already be entered in your bexio.

Step 2: Configuration of the bexio interface

In this step, you connect bexio to PepperShop, configure the interface and assign the payment methods to the bexio bank accounts.

Connect PepperShop with bexio

First, connect the bexio account to PepperShop.

  1. Go to your PepperShop administration.

  2. Click on the bexio module in the navigation bar on the left

  3. Click on “Create new” under “Connection to bexio”.

  4. A window opens and you can log in with your bexio login. Authorise access from PepperShop to bexio.

  5. Back in PepperShop Administration, tick the box next to “Activation”.

  6. Click on “Save” at the bottom.

Two further tabs now appear in the tab at the top.

Configuration interface

Now define the bexio user and the account assignment.

  1. Click on the “Configuration” tab.
  1. Under “User ID”, select the bexio user on which your Web cash register orders are to be created.

  2. Under “Account assignment standardpositions”, define to which revenue account entered in bexio all non-product items should be posted. These include:

    • Shipping costs

    • Minimum quantity surcharge

    • Cash on delivery

    • PayPal amounts

    • Escrow costs

  3. Click on “Save” below.

Assign payment details

On the “Payment details” tab, you assign the PepperShop payment methods to your bexio bank accounts.

  1. Switch to the “Payment details” tab.
  1. Select a bank account for each payment type in the dropdown to which the payment should be booked

  2. Click on “Save” at the bottom.

If you require additional accounts in the dropdown selection, you can create these in your bexio account in the Banking tab. These will automatically appear in your PepperShop administration as soon as you have updated the page.

Step 3: Import articles into PepperShop

Now import your item and customer data from bexio into PepperShop, create categories and assign items to them.

Firstly, import the item and customer data from bexio into PepperShop.

  1. Switch to the “Interface” tab

  2. Click on “Import products from bexio” and on “Ok”.

  3. Click on “Import bexio customers” and on “Ok”.

Create categories

Now you need to create one or more categories for the PepperShop in order to assign the imported articles to a category.

  1. Switch to “Categories” in the navigation bar on the left

  2. Click on “New” and fill out the form.

  3. If you want to create further categories, repeat the steps.

Assign articles

Now move the imported items to the appropriate category.

  1. Click on “Products”“Mass mutations”“Categories”“Nichtzugeordnet” in the menu in the navigation bar

  2. Now select the desired items in a category and click on the “Select” button. (Multiple selection is possible with the ctrl or shift keys).

  3. Then tick one ore more desired categories and click on “Assign products to these categories”.

  4. Repeat these steps until all items have been assigned.

Step 4: Connect the SumUp Solo card terminal

In this step, you connect the SumUp Solo card terminal to the PepperShop.

Connect PepperShop with SumUp account

Firstly, connect PepperShop to your SumUp account.

  1. In the PepperShop administration, go to “Web cash register”“Web cash register configuration” in the navigation bar on the left.

  2. Scroll down to “SumUp payment terminal” and click on “Connect”.

  3. You will be redirected to the SumUp login screen. Log in and click on “Next” and then on “Allow”.

You will now be redirected back to PepperShop Administration.

Connecting SumUp Solo to Wi-Fi

In order for the SumUp Solo and the PepperShop to communicate with each other, it must be connected to a Wi-Fi. (Alternatively, it is also possible to connect the SumUp to a mobile hotspot on your mobile phone. Using the SumUp’s mobile data does not work for the interface).

  1. Switch on your SumUp Solo.

  2. Drag the arrow at the top of the screen downwards

  3. Select “Connections”.

  4. Press “Wi-Fi”. (The white slider next to “Wi-Fi” should be on the right).

  5. Your Solo will search for secure networks that you can connect to. Connect to the desired Wi-Fi.

  1. Click on the arrow at the top left. This will take you back to the “Connections” area.

Step 3: Connect SumUp Solo to PepperShop via API

The SumUp Solo is connected to PepperShop via the API interface.

(Important: You must not be logged in to the SumUp during this step. If you are logged in, first follow the steps below:

  1. Pull the arrow down and open the “Settings”.

  2. Press on “Info”.

  3. Press “Log out”.

  4. A login window now appears. Do NOT log in.

  5. Drag the arrow at the top of the screen downwards

  6. Press “Connections”.

  7. Follow the next steps.)

  8. Click on “API”.

  9. Press “Connect”. A code is now displayed on the SumUp Solo screen. 4.

  10. Switch back to the PepperShop administration. You are still in the “Web checkout configuration” area.

  11. Scroll down to “SumUp payment terminal”.

  12. Click on “Pair”.

  13. Enter any name for the device.

  14. Under “Connection code”, enter the code that is displayed on the SumUp.

  15. Click on “Pair” and then on “OK” .

  16. Tick the “Active” box.

  17. Click on “Save” at the bottom.

Step 5: Make a test purchase

In this step, you create a checkout user and make a test purchase.

Create cash register user

If you do not already have one, create a checkout user first.

  1. Switch to “Cash register user / Login” at the top of the tab.

  2. Click on “Add new cash register user”.

  3. Fill out the form.

  4. Click on “Save”.

To check whether the SumUp Solo and bexio interface has been successfully configured, make a test purchase.

  1. Click on “Logging in” next to the new cash register user

  2. You will be redirected to your Web cash register.

  3. Place an item in the shopping basket

  4. Click on “Pay”.

  5. Next to the payment method “Cash” you will see the SumUp Solo for selection.

  6. Click on it, the amount will appear on the SumUp Solo and you can make the payment.

Switch to bexio

The purchase is forwarded to your bexio.

  1. Switch to bexio.

  2. Go to “Sales”“Orders”.

  3. Your test purchase is listed here.

Congratulations! You have successfully configured your All-in-One POS solution and are ready for your first customers!
